Project Charter and Scope Statement

Use feedback to edit Project Charter and Scope documents.

Feedback: Anthony as we have been discussing a project Charter delineates the project requirements such as stating project objectives, projected costs along with start and end dates. It also includes high-level project activities, identifies potential customers, stakeholders, project, and project risks at a minimum. Regarding Project Scope, is based on the project Charter, thus the Scope should also evaluate project outcomes, costs as well as start and end datesreinforce or adjust Charter details explicitly explaining deltas. Usually, once the project Charter is approved by the Project Sponsor, a Project Manager is assigned. The project Manager takes the Charter, analyses it in detail expanding Charter identified characteristics and expands each in detail creating the project Scope. Other activities that the Project Manager does, is to identify all project stakeholders and meets with them to determine if the stakeholder is concern with the impact of the project, thus developing a plan to work with each stakeholder, Project WBS is created in detail, as well as project communications, risks, quality processes, Human Resource and Procurement plans are derived (project Integration process). Further a project team is form early after the Charter is approved. Once the project Scope and related plans are completed, they are presented to the Project Sponsor for approval. Once the project is approved project execution starts. Above overview is general high-level discussion for developing project Scope which is derived from the project Charter.
