Use the information from the audiobook to answer the following:

The New York Times Best Seller Forty Million Dollar Slaves: The Rise, Fall, and Redemption of the Black Athlete authored by William C. Rhoden was released 2007. While this book did receive controversy over the title it earned critical acclaim for the historical narrative, content and current landscape of race in athletics. Rhoden argues not much has changed in sport as true power, meaning ownership, management and coaching, are still reserved primarily for whites.

While this is not the entire book, it does cover the first half of the book and in particular the history of race and sports. Please listen to all six parts on this link. It is several hours long so make sure you designate time to listen and do not wait until the last minute.

For this essay, please provide at least one full page on what Rhoden refers to as the jockey syndrome and another full page on your reflection after listening to the first part of the book.
