ex.The trans-Atlantic slave trade and American chattel slavery generated enormous wealth for European and American economies, yet led to loss of life and liberty of enslaved Africans. The slave trade and chattel slavery system constitute crimes against humanity and restitution is owed to the descendants of former slaves.
Another thesis example: ex. California is already taking steps to give ex-convicts more rights and opportunities. Furthermore we know that not every African-American incarcerated is in prison due to racial bias only. Giving reparations to former criminals sends a bad message to the larger community and I doubt taxpayers will support it.
