A review of literature enables you to acquire a full understanding of your topic, what has been already saying about it; how the ideas that are related to your topic have been researched, applied, and developed; and the key issues surrounding your topic. For all stages of a research study, an understanding of the existing literature is important. In providing context, guiding methods, defining creativity, reducing duplicative research, and ensuring that professional requirements are met, the literature review helps every researcher join the conversation (Maggio, Sewell & Artino 2016).
After completing my literature review, the issue I have is finding references that are within a 5 years period. I still, however, saved these references in the hope of finding similar reviews that are current. This change that I have to make is feasible however it takes more time to complete my research. In addition, another change I could make is that some of the research I found was on smoking but did not have much relevance to the topic therefore I had to delete the ones that I do not need. The ones that were important to the topic, I kept and used as my literature review articles. Summarizing these articles, the improvement I could make is to make sure that the summary is coherent and make sense.
