One of the most common health issues is a chronic disease. There is now a variety of contributes that can positively affect individuals with chronic disease long term. Technology within the medical industry is ever-changing and has become more efficient. It can reduce errors with documentation and translation of medical care within multiple disciplines and practice settings. In relation to technology, another component is better-managed care to prevent additional comorbidities based on medical history. Traditionally, a patients history comes from the patient remembering their daily routine and making a list of medications. The technology and the improvement of care can impact the quality of life. An additional component can also include the initiation of patients being able to participate in making their own decisions of their healthcare. A treatment plan cant work for a patient unless the healthcare professional understands the clients perspective and buy-in (Megair, 2013). Lastly, there is a presence of an increase in negative costs and psychosocial challenges in chronic disease. Because it is chronic, there will be a long term plan which requires more costs and a decrease in the positivity of a healthier outcome.
Some of the components address within the public health industry to ensure clients are set up with a better quality of life. It provides a positive feedback loop because there is a better system with more efficiency, manageable care with medications and beneficial treatment plans, and the clients own advocacy in their care. They were connectively in order to create a better outcome within the medical system for individuals with chronic diseases. However, if the medical costs continue to rise and become a challenge, it will contribute to the negative psychosocial factors. Individuals continue to have mental health issues with a diagnosis whether it is acute or chronic. The mental health symptoms can be a risk factor for comorbidities and decrease the chances of a better quality of life.
