You might, for instance, find that the scene offers a particular insight into the characterization, or its cinematography or editing preferences suggest an implicit theme.
Your task is to choose one of the scenes from the given options, watch it carefully, and consider how its formal elements draw attention to an interpretation, either implicit or explicit. You will be expected to support your interpretation by analyzing how the formal choices made by the filmmaker come together to create a specific meaning. Your essay should provide evidence of minute observation, attention to the details of the formal elements, an ability to mobilize the terminology from the textbook, and draft a clear argument. Your argument or claim should appear early in your draft, preferably immediately after the introductory comments. Your essay should be divided into paragraphs with each paragraph offering some evidence to support your primary argument or claim. Your concluding paragraph should summarize your argument.
