The debate topic is “Should, or should not, parents spank their children more as a form of discipline?” I worded it this way to make the differentiation clear from abuse. This, by the way, is a question of value. Therefore, the affirmative group will argue that spanking children is the right thing to do, while the opposition will argue that spanking is not the right thing to do.
