1. Topic selection and inquiry questions: You will create a minimum of two inquiry or essential questions to help “drive” or “shape” your research. These questions should be open-ended, thoughtful, meaningful, and intellectually provocative.
2. Proposal: You will write a short proposal (200-300 words) that will serve as a mission statement for your paper. What do you intend to accomplish, and how will you proceed? Be specific.
And
3. Argument Writing: Your paper will provide you an opportunity to present what you’ve learned in an argument piece. You’ll be deciding to whom your message should go and how you intend to convey your message. Will you include pathos? ethos? logos? Your paper must also include a counter-claim (the other side of the argument) to demonstrate that you are aware of the other perspective on your selected topic/issue. Furthermore, including a counter-claim offers you a chance to refute the other argument with your research!
All papers/projects must:
Meet all the criteria mentioned above
Include a Works Cited Page
Be 6 pages in length (not including the Works Cited page)
Include all sources and be appropriately CITED within the text and the Works Cited Page
Times New Roman font, and 1-inch margins
