The object of the assignment is to develop an intimate knowledge of a country other than your own. You will be responsible for gathering information on a specific issue and basic social institutions in one country. The report should cover: history, geography, politics, the economy, religion, educational systems, and the family, as well as one current significant issue in that country.
Examples of possible issues could include AIDS, sweatshop labor, sex trafficking, the rights of indigenous populations (e.g., Mayans in Guatemala), or ecological issues in a specific country.
Your report should include a discussion about the country and issue(s) from a perspective of Christian faith and justice. You should clearly cite the sources you consulted in your research. A minimum of three sources should be cited.
