Requirements for the Classification Paper
Uses the 5 paragraph essay model discussed in lectures and in the book
Introductory paragraph
Three Body paragraphs, each on its own subtopic
A Conclusion paragraph
Has an explicit thesis statement as the final sentence of the introduction
All paragraphs are at least 5-6 sentences in length
The topic must be appropriate to for a Classification paper (or a Categorization paper)
Each body paragraph is on a specific subcategory of the overall subject
All work, from prewriting to final draft will be turned in specific due dates for portions of the rough draft are posted in the Module and in assignments
Final drafts must be double spaced
The paper should have a title, centered at the top of the first page of text on the final draft
Your paper heading should include your name, ENC 1101, and the date in the left hand corner of the paper

Your paper should not be written in 2nd Avoid the use of you and the understood subject of you. You may use 1st and 3rd person. You do not have to use 1st person.
