The essays allow you to more fully explore the ideas first presented in the QSRs that you wrote for Walker Percy. (questions for second reading) is in “The loss of the Creature” on page 481.
The essay should be four-five (4-5) pages long, approximately 1200-1500 words in length.
You may use any of the assigned questions or others that interest you or something of your own.
You may use two essays together if there is a particular point that you want to compare and/or contrast between them.
As with the QSRs, you are writing an analytical-argument, explaining what you have learned or wanted to better understand in the essay.
Also as with the QSR, it is perfectly fine to agree and/or disagree with the authors-be sure, however, to provide relevant support from the text.
Use the text for support-quotes are recommended as are particularly specific summaries and paraphrases.
Use at least two (2) outside sources beyond the texts; one of these sources must be a scholarly article.
Use MLA in-text citation format for any support taken from the essays and research.
