Case study is 1600 words: around 4.5 pages. 1. Introduction: what is remarkable about this woman, how did she change her world? The thesis statement. 1 paragraph (1/2 page)2. Context: about the country, about the political environment, economic practices, educational opportunities, kinship practices, whatever is relevant to understand the structural barriers and opportunities she faced. It can be presented woven in with her life story, or just as background. 2-3 paragraphs (1 page)3. Biographical features that are relevant: not whole life story: think about what I pointed out regarding Virginia Woolf. Few elements, emphasizing the ways in which events shaped her, but also how she acted herself, the choices she made, her agency as a historical personage. 3-4 paragraphs (1 page)4. Actions/achievements: select one or two things and describe into detail what they are and how they changed some element of the society in which that woman lived. 4-5 paragraphs (2 pages)detail, concrete, direct quotes. The analysis is your discussing the actions and linking them with how you see the actions changing the context you described under point 2.5. Legacies of your main characters accomplishments: looking beyond the specifics of her life, are there itemsa law, an institution, a book, a movie, etc.that have impacted the lives of others beyond her time and place?
