Urban Landscape in East Dublin

Please see the attached files for a full description of the project. this will be a comprehansive description, with pre provided sources and instructions for every part of the project. Please note that no one in the course has recieved training on how to use ‘storymap’ before, it is incredibly easy and instructions are provided in the documents. If you are uncomfortable with this then I can still do it and you can just write the content. A comprehensive list of sources is provided in the documents which should make this an easy project. Please read the following in advance of the field trip: https://www.dia.ie/architects/view/4969/simms-herbertgeorge, and the article attached, in particular pp.62-75.

Using the Knighlab application you will produce a StoryMap (https://storymap.knightlab.com/) presenting a
spatial narrative of aspects of the landscapes you have surveyed. A Guide to creating a StoryMap is provided in
Blackboard (StoryMap Guidelines). An example of a landscape based student StoryMap can be viewed here:

The StoryMap allows you to create a set of connected slides and pin them onto a map base, thus creating a
spatial narrative.
Your StoryMap will present a set of slides relating to a series of public housing developments in the study area
from c.1900 to the 1960s.
Your slides will include: (a) an image of the buildings featured (screen shots from Google Maps or possibly
historic images or both), (b) a written description of the buildings featured, (c) historical context and
comments on change.
