The Very Big Corporation of America (VBCA) claimed that its shipment of nuclear boring devices sent on the SpaceX to the International Space Station was overbilled signficantly by SpaceX. In addition, SpaceX advertised fast shipment but bumped SpaceX’s cargo to a later flight. VBCA claimed that they lost millions of dollars due to the blatant fraud on the part of SpaceX. As luck and exam writers would have it, the newly created International Space Commerce Commission was available to hear the complaint. VBCA would have none of it and filed in district court bypassing the ISCC. SpaceX claimed that the nature of the goods demanded a higher tariff. VBCA countered: “au contraire asteroid breath” and filed in the U.S. District Court. The District Court remanded the case to the ISCC which, although a new agency, was already bloated with several layers of administrators chomping at the bit to deal with the VBCA’s complaint against SpaceX. SpaceX decided to claim that the ISCC had considered the case long enough, was not going to deliver a decision in real time, and lacked jurisdiction over the complaints. They filed in federal court again, but in another jurisdiction.
