Using the survey you wrote in an earlier assignment, survey 20 people and prepare a research report. If survey revisions were necessary, make sure you complete those before surveying. You do not need my approval of the revised survey before continuing (unless you feel like you’ve made substantial changes).

Using the survey you wrote in an earlier assignment, survey 20 people and prepare a research report. If survey revisions were necessary, make sure you complete those before surveying. You do not need my approval of the revised survey before continuing (unless you feel like you’ve made substantial changes).

Structure your paper using the sections outlined below.

Introduction (3-4 paragraphs)
Introduce the topic to the reader. (It is not appropriate formatting to be casual/informal in this paperso no, I chose this topic… or I thought it would be cool. Instead, by more formal. Driving affects X number of people each year…
Why is this topic worthy of being studied? Why is it important?
What does existing literature say about the topic? (cite at least 2 academic sourcesthese are articles from the library journals. NO websites!)
Methods (2-3 paragraphs)
Hypothesize what you expected to find. (It was hypothesized that…)
Explain how you conducted the study. This includes general notes about where/when (not specific dates/times), physically how (On paper? Verbally? Online?), and how respondents identities were protected.
Demographics of your sample. What percent were male/female? Was the sample disproportionately representative of one racial or ethnic group? Also include explanation of variables relevant to your study. So, if you are looking at differences between upper and lower income groups, youll want to tell the reader percentages of those groups in your sample.
Results (2 paragraphs)
Answer your hypothesis— did you find what was expected?
Report in writing relevant percentages of responses for one question (the one which best answers your hypothesis)
Explain what that finding means for the population you sampled (what did you learn about that social group?)
Insert a table which shows your findings (Use the template provided below. You must show your percentage calculation, ie., that 5 people marked A, which is 25% of the total sample)
Table Templates download(choose one to include)
Conclusion (4-5 paragraphs)
Summarize what has been learned about the social group(s) you studied, as well as any interesting or surprising findings.
Explain your findings using one or more of the three traditional sociological paradigms. Remember, all issues can be explained by more than one paradigm. Use your survey results as evidence to support or disprove the concept. This should be about 25% of your paper.
References/Works Cited (on its own page– still within the file)

Properly formatted citations for sources used in the introduction (and any sources you may have used at any other point in the paper)–format in MLA or APA, just be consistent
Your paper should be written in Times New Roman, 12pt. font, double-spaced and formatted with 1-inch margins. The Sociology discipline uses APA style but you may use MLA if you prefer, as long as your paper is in an academically acceptable format and formatting is consistent.
Submit your assignment (table and write-up) in the same document (.doc or .pdf) through the Canvas course. I do not need the copies of your actuasurveys, but you should talk about the results of them in your write-up. **Your file name should include your last name (Example: Smith_Soci1301)
Submit your completed paper on this page. It must be a .doc file. You may return here to see your similarity score–this may take up to 24 hours. Assignment submissions will be processed through a plagiarism checker. Any paper which has a similarity report greater than 15% (not including your table) will not be graded. PLEASE NOTE: If you use the table template from the assignments, your similarity score may be high– I will not include the table in my plagiarism check. Click on your score and make sure none of the rest of your paper was flagged. You may resubmit as many times as needed before the deadline.
