Introduction:
Your paper should begin with an introduction to the topics you will discuss. As part of the introduction, you should devote a paragraph to introducing the districts you have selected. What are notable features of these districts? Why did you select these sites?
A note on site selection: The decision about which districts to report on is critical, and you want cases that differ in a meaningful way that connects to a topic from our course (such as socio- economic status or segregation). At the same time, you dont want there to be too many other differences to complicate your comparison. For instance, you might consider a rich and poor district in the same local area, or two large urban districts in different places.
Presentation of Data:
You should present your collection in at least one table. An example template is provided below. You are encouraged to include additional summaries (e.g., table, figure, or image) provided they clearly present relevant information.
You must also describe the data in your paper. For every reported characteristic, you must clearly describe the following:
Source of the information (Where could an interested reader find it?)
Detailed description of the characteristic or variable. (For instance, if student achievement, what grade and subject?) Also, why do we care about this characteristic?
Interpretation of the values (for instance, for achievement scores, how do these compare to the national average?)
