What are the earliest memories you have of speaking, reading, or writing?

All papers must be typed and double-spaced. In the upper left hand corner, put your name (Catherine Steiger), class (Eng. M01A), type of assignment (personal literacy narrative), final draft or revision (rough draft), and date. Title your paper and center, do not underline it, above your text. Use MLA format to type and document all papers.

As you can see, this assignment requires that you rely upon and critique your personal memories. Be sure to use rich detail as supporting material in your writing as well as good narrative and descriptive techniques. The following questions and pre-writing strategies will help you generate material and organize your thoughts.
