This capstone project will require you to analyze a criminal justice-based information technology system. For your analysis, you will research Red Light Camera Systems. As part of your research, you should locate the following data online:

1. User and/or operational manuals (Google hint: red light camera manual)

2. Red light camera statistics (e.g. increases or decreases of crashes, increases or decreases of municipal income) (Google hint: red light camera statistics)

3. Data related to how a red-light camera system works. Think in terms of how we have defined a computer system in class. Be prepared to identify input, process, output, storage, and communications components of a red-light camera system. (Google hint: how red light cameras work)

4. As part of your research, read the article included with this assignment.
Once you have conducted your research, begin your analysis. Be sure to answer the following questions in your analysis:

1. How does the system work? What are the IPOS components and what function do they perform?

2. Provide examples of camera systems working well.

3. Provide examples of camera systems that may not be working as intended.

4. State your opinion as to the effectiveness, morality, legality, benefits, and threats of this type of technology. Consider:

a. Is the development of this technology likely to affect your career prospects?
b. Has this technology already affected you personally (fines)?
c. What effect does this technology have on privacy?
d. What effect does this technology have on the equal and fair application of law and justice?
e. What trends do you foresee with this type of technology?

5. Submission requirements:
a. All submissions must be in MS WORD or as a PDF file and submitted via Blackboard.
b. Three to four pages in length, not including the cover page and works cited page.
c. A sperate cover page that has your name, date, course, and section number.
d. The cover page should use Wordart, clipart, and/or images that give the reader a clear idea about the content of the analysis. Put your design skills to work!
e. A separate works cited or bibliography page.
f. In text citations where appropriate.
g. All submissions are due no later than March 12th, 2021, 11:59pm.
