What do the waves show us in terms of access to power, privilege, and social change?

Question:1. Describe the waves of feminism. Why do we use waves to describe feminism? You can discuss the people, the issues, and the political/social context of each wave. Please use the PowerPoints Ii uploaded here you can use on second and third wave feminism. You can also use sources from the library databases, the course textbook. Describe which wave seems most important to you and why. What similarities can you see between the waves?
In terms of social change, activism, transnational and global issues that were just brought up in our textbook, what do you think is going to happen next in terms of Women and Gender Studies?
Will we need a more progressive transnational or global wave to move women and gender issues forward? What capacity do you imagine for leaders? What do the waves show us in terms of access to power, privilege, and social change?
Many commentators argue that the internet itself has enabled a shift from third-wave to fourth-wave feminism. The existence of a feminist fourth wave has been challenged by those who maintain that increased usage of the internet is not enough to delineate a new era. But it is increasingly clear that the internet has facilitated the creation of a global community of feminists who use the internet both for discussion and activism. It is also more concerned with transnational and global intersections.
