Write a research paper on one of the subjects below. The research paper should be 8-10 pages of text, typed, double-spaced, with footnotes or endnotes, and a bibliography. Use at least five different sources, which include our textbooks; one source may be a website. Watch for punctuation, grammar, and spelling. Submit on Blackboard a 1-2 page outline of the research paper, which should state the thesis of your paper, with headings, sub-headings, and a list of sources; a revised outline is due 1/21. The outlines go toward your overall paper grade. See our Blackboard site and my webpage (under Teaching) for sample outlines and papers.. Late papers will not be accepted without a medical excuse.
Drawing on Smiths Wealth of Nations, compare/contrast two countries in terms of industrialization. How were men and women involved in the Industrial Revolution? What environmental problems resulted from industrialization in these two countries?
n the introduction, explain what you want to say in the paper. What is the purpose of this study? What do you want to achieve or demonstrate?
In the main part of the paper, provide examples to support your main theme. How do these examples relate to your theme or topic? Be sure to cite your sources throughout, particularly when using names, dates, numbers, etc. To cite your sources, use footnotes or endnotes. Here is an example of how to use to cite a source the first time,[1] and any subsequent times.[2]
In the conclusion of the paper, sum up what you have said in the main part of the paper. What specifically have you accomplished?
Use Times New Roman font, 12, or a similar font. Number your pages throughout. Be sure to include a bibliography.
