For the historical materials, use Belew and Michael for the rise and rapid fall of the Order and its impact on the white supremacist movement during the eighties, and Wright for the Oklahoma City bombing and its impact on the militia movement. I’m not looking for a great deal of detail so you want to just discuss the events in a fairly general level (but not too general).
For the effectiveness question consider why leaderless resistance was introduced (no organization = no target for federal law enforcement) and whether or not it is effective at producing violence (here you want to consider the nature of “lone wolf terrorism” in terms of lethality and political impact).
