After reading chapters 1 and 2 from the Motivational Interviewing text, talk about your own interpretation of Motivational Interviewing. What is the purpose of this intervention? How do you think you might use these skills with your current clients? If you do not currently work with clients, talk about how you might use these skills with future clients. You can also include any other information from these two chapters or critical thinking that you think would be important to include in this post.
Remember that your main post should be a minimum of 250 words and your response to your classmate should be at least 150 words. Instead of using direct quotes from the text in your answers, try paraphrasing/summarizing these quotes in your own words. While you would still have to cite these statements, using these skills better shows your understanding of the text rather than simply copying and pasting the text. These skills are important to develop as you continue your academic and professional careers.
