The topic of most songs written for mass consumption is…love. Sex has also crept into our song lyrics, along with various opinions on it. Your assignment here is to take one songs lyrics and explain to me what the artist/songwriter is saying to the world. Interpret it for me what is the song saying about love or sexuality? What actions or attitudes is the artist advocating? Does the genre (country, rap, hip-hop, R&B, blues, pop, etc.) of the song have anything to do with its message? Is this message considered controversial by society as awhole? By you? This is your chance to take any song from any genre you like and show me what a great song it is. This first page of this paper should consist entirely and only of the lyrics, easily done by cut and paste off the internet (your only allowed plagiarism, per se!). You may go to nearly any lyrics website to find the lyrics. I dont mind profanity if it is an actual aspect of the song, but that should form a point of your discussion. On the second page is where I want your critique of the song. This paper should include a copy of the lyrics, along with at least 1 full page of your own interpretation of it.
