Lets focus more closely on vocabulary instruction. For this module, you will complete an informal outline of a literacy lesson focused on vocabulary. Please follow the format below:
Vocabulary focus for the lesson
What vocabulary words/topics will you be focusing on? These words should be specific to your professional setting (Please provide a word list).
What materials/resources will you use to introduce the words? How will you implement the resources?
Will you use a read aloud book?
Will you play a vocabulary game to introduce the words? Etc. please be specific.
Please describe, in detail, the steps you will use for lesson plan (including your vocabulary words and materials and resources).
How will you continue to re-visit these vocabulary words after the lesson is over (follow-up lesson, etc.)? Be sure the activity relates back to your original lesson.
Will you create a Word Wall?
Will students complete a Vocabulary Notebook?
Will there be a Weekly Review of the vocabulary words, etc.?
Please be clear and specific for each section. Sources are optional for this assignment, but I encourage you to incorporate them if/when appropriate. Please refer to the rubric when completing the assignment.
