Your initial post to the 5-2 Discussion Forum (Prewriting and Planning for the Narrative Essay)
Please carefully read the assignment’s instructions and plan ahead, so you can take your time while completing it. For your initial post, be sure that you carefully and thoroughly answer all of the questions.
In 250-300 words in the text box of the forum (no attachments), share all of the following, in this order:
The list of possible ideas you came up with initially (as many as possible!)
Which topic do you think you will choose to focus on, and why
What your “climax” or emotional high point of the narrative will be
What your thesis statement will be (For example: The moment I saw the nurse lean over and wipe the tear from my grandmothers eye and gently tell her that everything would be OK, I knew that becoming a nurse was what I needed to do with my life.)
Briefly, share what you will write about in each section: (what will be in your introduction? what will be in your body paragraphs? what will be in your conclusion?)
This assignment will serve as the foundation for the upcoming Narrative Essay, which is due at the end of Week 5. I will further discuss the Narrative Essay in an announcement at the end of this week. For now, focus on the prewriting and planning for the assignment. As I review your initial posts in the coming days, I will post my feedback (along with some helpful tips) as a reply to your post. Be on the lookout for it.
