[I believe that FEMA and the government on all levels failed the citizens of New Orleans, leaving thousands dead and homeless dead because it seemed like they were ignoring the issue and making it seem like they didn’t know or as if they didn’t hear the news about it. It shows that they weren’t a priory and they just didn’t get the attention that was needed. If they cared and wanted to help, they’d give them that attention that they deserved and would’ve made them a priority but they didn’t and it shows. My answer to believing that race and ethnicity played a role in FEMA’s late response is in the middle of yes and no because no matter how bad the disaster is, they should get the help and it lasted way longer that it should’ve and Im saying as if this happened to an higher class, it wouldn’t have lasted as long and there would be more help. They had to know how bad the situation was but maybe since it was so much, they were overwhelmed with the thought of what can be done. No matter what the situation is, there should always be a solution or at least back up to be prepared for the worst. It all comes back to teaching the upcoming generations the difference between race and how everyone grows up differently in different places and neighborhoods.]
