Basically this is a “Capstone Project” for my BHS. The teacher suggested this in an email.
Teacher:
1) Research and identify the workplace stress factors in the peer reviewed literature
2) Research and identify stress relief methods that are proven to be effective ( again from the published research literature)
3) Based on the type of workplace your are targeting, decide what stress relief programming would be the most effective and design the materials necessary to implement
When you submit the Idea Paper, make sure to provide a strong statement of the problem, backed up by data. For instance Work stress in X industry has been linked to X amount of issues ( and cite the research). Stress reduction programs have shown to improve worker’s health….and cite more studies here. Then state very clearly what you are proposing to implement, where and why.
The “Idea paper” is the first step for this paper to basically show you have an understanding and an outline to complete the full paper.
Here are the instructions for the idea paper:
What is expected for the idea paper?
1) Clear description of your proposed project along with a justification of need
2) Use the published literature to support the need for your project
3) Have a clear and focused thesis statement
4) Establish a timeline to show you can complete the project in 16 weeks
5) describe what resources you will use to accomplish your goal
5) Demonstrate how you will use what you have learned in previous BHS classes to design your project
6) Relate your project to the BHS program outcomes ( see below) and demonstrate how the project illustrates them
