Write a research on The Affordable Care Act is a health care reform set in place in 2010 by BarrackObama, and is also known as Obamacare. I have mixed feelings in regards to the ACA. I believe the overall idea behind the ACA has potential to beneficial to many Americans who fell in the middle and lower class classification. With the hopes of offering medical coverage to the millions of American’s who were uninsured, it offered the opportunity to those Americans to receive that quality of care we all deserve. The ACA appealed to many young American’s, as it allowed for young adults to stay on their parents private insurance policies until the age of 26. However, I am not particularly fond of the idea that there was a mandate on having health insurance. The Affordable Care Act also had many downfalls and hiccups, which I believe outweighed the pros. A key word in ACA is Affordable. I think the health insurance options that were present through Obamacare were anything but affordable, unless you fell in the lower income bracket and qualified for Medicaid.
I am not sure what the next course of action will be in relation to the health reform, or even what direction I think it should go. I do believe we have already made a step in the right direction under the Trump administration by nixing the government mandate on retaining health coverage for everyone. This will allow for those who want to trust in the Lord for their healing to forgo health insurance. The bible tells us to trust in the Lord and to pray for those who are sick. Some believe that the power of prayer is enough to heal, and may not want to partake in health policies. Letting go of the mandate in the Affordable Care Act gives Americans an option to do what is best for their individual families and not be forced into government orders.
