YOur final paper should be structured as a policy brief, or an analysis of a policy or procedure we have learned about this semester. You should choose a topic we have studied this semester and identify a policy that is at the core of the institutional racism you will discuss. You should develop a clear thesis statement (what you will prove) and three arguments that help to illustrate or prove your thesis. You should use any authority you can from the syllabus (including the optional readings) but you do not need to do outside research. You should carefully develop your argument to explain and discuss the issue. Consider using the writing center for some assistance making your written word as strong as your ability to think through the issue!!!
Instructions
The assignment is to write a Policy Brief as your final paper. This is a term paper (8-10 pages). This policy brief analyzing one topic relating to this course, and using the reading materials from class (the optional reading materials are also available for this project). You should use no less than 4 academic sources (drawing on required or optional materials assigned in class) and one interview with a relevant authority (OPTIONAL). TERM PAPER IS DUE DECEMBER 3. All papers should be submitted on Blackboard in response to this assignment.
