I. Integrate what is known about grit and their population based upon prior research. Identify your specific population (ELDERLY). Share findings from prior research with this population and tell the reader what has already been established.
a. Specifically identify what you have learned based on your review of the qualitative literature. IVa, IVc.
b. Specifically identify what you have learned based on your review of the quantitative literature. IVa, IVc.
c. Explain how the qualitative and quantitative literature complement one another in helping you to understand how the concept of grit may relate to your population of interest. IVa.
II. Identify a need for an intervention. Why is this population in need of a targeted intervention? In what ways are they vulnerable, or how could their lives be improved by an intervention? Relate your identification of a need for intervention to the literature that you reviewed. IVd.
III. Make a recommendation of a specific intervention and describe how this intervention could be carried out. In other words, what should be done and how could it be done? The intervention can be on either the micro, mezzo, or macro level and should be in the form of an evidenced based clinical tool, the addition of a group or service, a staff training, or an agency policy. Students should use their internship setting as a frame of reference or utilize a macro lens. All students should address how their proposal is culturally sensitive to the needs of their population. Explain your rationale for selecting this intervention based on the literature that you reviewed. IVd.
IV. Describe how you would evaluate the impact of the intervention you discussed in item III. Describe briefly the type of research design you would use to evaluate the intervention, how you would select a sample to represent the population of interest, and how you would select or develop one or more instruments that are reliable and valid. Explain how you would ensure that your plan would reflect culturally informed and ethical approaches to evaluation. IVb.
Paper should be 6-8 pages in length not including cover page or reference page. Student should use information from at least 7 scholarly articles to fully explore their population. Students should utilize APA conventions and submit a paper that demonstrates professional writing (proper grammar, correct spelling, free from typos).
