Requirements:
1. It is a speech for a special occasion: Tribute, eulogy, toast, acceptance, etc. (see textbook).
2. It is 1-2 pages, Times New Roman, 12. (approximately 4-5 minutes in time)
3. It begins with an attention-getter.
4. The speech pattern is stated. Example: “Today, I will share with you the rich life my grandfather lived. I’ll move in chronological order, so let’s begin in 1935.” or “Today, we toast the beautiful love of Mike and Cindy. In order to really understand this love, we have to look at three attributes they share: loyalty, compassion, and discipline.”
5. The conclusion is evident and memorable.
6. If you are celebrating a famous person, then citations must be orally included, so they should be in the script. You will need a picture of references at the end.
The speech should be a special occasion speech and not an explanation of the images/pictures.
The pictures should be relevant and thoughtfully chosen to support the speech.
There should be music that quietly complements the speech and images.
The sound should be clear, so I can hear you saying your speech over the music.
The speech should last 5 minutes.
All the components of a good speech should be present: attention-getter, speech pattern, strong closing, naturally delivered.
If you did research, then you must cite orally within the speech and provide references.
