Policing the Police

please follow attach file and designated sources.

It is obvious and well established the police are empowered to use force to overcome resistance when pursuing a lawful objective. For those of you who will become police officers you will likely use force at some point in your career, you may be on video as your use of force episode unfolds and you will be called to account.

But how much force is too much? When does force become unreasonable, and thus unlawful? This social question is often fraught with competing interpretations of dimensions such as:
1) what is force?
2) how much and what type of resistance was offered?
3) were the police pursuing a lawful objective?
4) was the force necessary? and 5) was the force proportionate the resistance offered?
For this discussion:

1. Answer these questions as if you were investigating this incident as police supervisor: a) how much and what type of resistance was offered? b) were the police pursuing a lawful objective? c) was the force necessary? d) was the force proportionate the resistance offered? e) are the police responsible for the offender’s death? and f) must the police be punished for their use of force?
3. When writing your response please clearly indicate by letter (a,b,c,d,e,f) the questions you are answering.
