I AM RESPOND TO HER POST.
I routinely deal with harassment on a terroristic level. It has had a huge impact on my mental health. Continued hormonal imbalance is an issue. Emphasizing the importance of mental health-related terrorism and counter-terrorism educational programs can be a matter of life and death. It provides strength. I will be using Columbia Universitys terrorism coursework objectives and initiatives throughout this capstone project as a model. Over the years, we have seen multiple individuals with mental health issues, and with a background of domestic violence or criminality, being drawn into committing wider acts of terrorism for extremist or political motives (Malik, 2019, para. 3). In the U.K., the first risk comes from its 3,000 homegrown extremists monitored by The Security Service, MI5, as well over 20,000 former subjects of interest (Malik, 2020).The second threat stems from its prison population, where calls have been made to separate Islamist extremists from other inmates, due to concerns that they will radicalize the general prison population (Malik, 2020, para. 2). The third risk comes from its British citizens abroad (Malik, 2020, para. 2). Security services could not prevent them from joining terrorist organizations such as Islamic State (Malik, 2020). They now live in refugee camps and publicly state that they want to come home (Malik, 2020). The United States, on average, mandates a thirteen-year prison term for non-violent offenses. In 2013, pre-Islamic State, the majority of Islamist-related terrorist offenders in the United Kingdom, served a sentence of 2-5 years (Malik, 2020, para. 4). The lowest level of terror offense carries a sentencing range of twenty-one months to five years (Malik, 2020). Some argue that sentencing of this nature is insufficient to cover new types of low-tech attacks, such as the Streatham and London Bridge attacks. According to Malik (2020), policing alone is insufficient to deal with the threat of terroristic violence. Early intervention is necessary.
