You will each be assigned a state in the United States. Review all of the information on the websites; you are welcome to review additional information on other websites as well, but you need to list your sources as part of your response. Pay particular attention to the CovidExitStrategy.org site that has much of the information that will allow you to address the discussion question for your state.
Based on the information you review for your state/country, address the following points in your discussion post.
Summarize the key data points. This should include at a minimum number of cases per million and the trend over time; ICU occupation; contract tracing possible; COVID rate and its trend; Rt (same as Reff); current hospitalization rate and its trend; and case fatality rate.
Your recommendation regarding the extent to which your state should open (i.e., should public spaces, restaurants, churches, and other similar activities be allowed?). Given what you have learned, what would recommend as “opening” considerations?
Your recommendation on the extent to which people should be able to travel freely in or out of the state.
Describe one or two of the potential implications of your recommendation. One of those should focus on the rights of the individual versus the public health of the community.
