The final assignment in this class will be a final paper that each student will write. The paper will focus on a disease process in any of the systems discussed, which the student chooses. The disease process will be required to include the following:
What system it is located in?
List the organs in the system you choose.
What the disease process is and how it alters the normal functioning of the organ/system?
What are the signs and symptoms of the disease process?
What are the tests administered in order to diagnose the disease process and why?
What is the treatment given to treat the condition? This would include medications and surgical interventions.
What is the prognosis of the condition?
The last portion of the paper will include fun facts about the system you have chosen.
Each paper is to be at least 3 typed pages long, not including a reference page, with graphics including pictures, videos, references to media, television shows or movies that may have addressed the disease process you have chosen. The last page of the paper will be a reference page citing where you received the information used to write the paper.
