Assignment
1. Compose an essay based on your philosophy of education. Apply what you have learned in this class to help support your viewpoint.
2. Follow the format of a five sentence paragraph for each paragraph: topic sentence, three supporting details, concluding sentence. Writing style should be at the level required of juniors in college. Conveying the content in an accurate and concise style that develops each concept is needed. Complex sentences, proper grammar and usage, appropriate punctuation and capitalization are the basics of good writing and should be observed as well.
Why I want you to do it:
An educational philosophy consists of the beliefs and principles that guide teaching and learning practices. Being aware of your own educational philosophy helps you focus on the reasons behind the decisions you make when planning and implementing lessons. Through the writing of your own philosophy, you will see more clearly your own goals and values. The textbook provides many of the ideas, concepts, and theories that can help explain your point of view.
This assignment is a culmination of all you have learned within the foundations of education. Apply your new knowledge of what you have learned about teaching and learning to your prior knowledge.
