There will be two parts to the budget report, one being a numeric budget and the other is an executive summary to analyse the number and present financial aspects of this HR project. Detailed description & grading criteria of the final project is as follows:

You’re appointed to champion a new college recruitment initiative in your organization. Your company had never previously recruited from colleges before, however the marketing director would like to start recruiting talent from college director this year. You’re asked to put together a recruitment team budget for this project to hire 10 marketing interns from the 5 UC campus.

a few items you want to consider including on your budget:

1. advertising (planning, social media, content, materials)

2. branding

3. recruitment events budget

4. applicant assessment

5. careers page/partnerships?

6. salary cost of your team

7. events

You may create your own simple spreadsheet, or create a table to itemize and summarize your budget.

You’re required to submit for part 1:

Your budget including assumptions & calculation. This maybe in excel or any file that allows me to trace your formula.

The numeric part of the project is worth 40 points.

For part 2’s final assignment, you need to submit the entire report including

(1) a 1 page executive summary to present your budget to C-suite manager. Address overall budget, analyse how and what are resources being spent and timing of resources necessary. Consider discussing KPIs such as ‘recruitment cost per intern’;

(2) 1 page appendix: your budget report with assumptions clearly stated in the foot note.

The submission will be graded for your analysis, point of view, and presentation (completeness and presentation of the summary, inclusion of appendix and references to assumptions). Numeric sections and the budget table/formula is graded in part 1’s assignment.
