(There are 4 for epistemic methods of knowing. The four methods are logic, empriricism, revelation, and hermeneutics) What are the limitations of these (or any) methods of knowing? Sports Agent Presentation

The NFL season has just concluded and you have the problem of representing two offensive linemen from the Super Bowl Champion Arizona Cardinals. Unfortunately (or fortunately), both of these players are unrestricted free agents, and both will garner significant interest in the open market. There are two problems: Arizona has enough salary cap room to retain only one of the two players, and both have informed you, as their agent, that they want to stay in Arizona because their families are settled there and because of the team’s successes.

In an essay of 500 words, answer the following questions:

Does this situation present a conflict of interest for you?
Discuss how you will fulfill your duties as agent to both of these athletes, and what disclosures, if any, should be made to each athlete.
Discuss the nature of an agent’s duty to a principal. Does the Simms v. Argovitz case apply in this context and, if so, why?

What is the question that the philosopher is trying to answer? How does the philosopher answer the question? Why should we care?

PAPER INSTRUCTIONS

Paper 1 – Choose one topic: Reality, Truth and Knowledge, Ethics, or Justice

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Present one philosophers argument from the textbook answering the following questions – plato socrates aristotle
A. What is the question that the philosopher is trying to answer? How does the philosopher answer the question? Why should we care?
B. Identify and explain every part of the philosophers argument, including their reasons or evidence (premises) and the conclusion they draw from these reasons or evidence. This argument should reveal the philosophers proposed answer to the question in b. References and quotations: Dont just quote put it in your own words (and cite passage page or reference numbers), and explain why you are including them and what you think it means. Then the reader can compare the quote with your interpretation of it, and measure it against their own.
C. Concede something, but then point out a problem: Tell them what they did right: good definition, true premises, valid conclusion? Say so. Then point out one of three things: a key definition is unclear or unacceptable (circular, too narrow, to broad, etc.), the conclusion does not follow (the argument is invalid or weak), or one or more of their premises (their reasons or evidence) is unclear or false (the argument is unsound or uncogent).
D. Give a possible response to the problem It is easy to point out a problem, but more challenging to come up with a response. Suggest a way for the philosopher to improve their argument? How can they improve their key definition? What other conclusion might they draw to make the argument valid or stronger? What premises are truer but still achieve the desired conclusion? Or do you concede their whole argument? If so, then explain why there is no way to improve on the philosophers argument. You had better be right!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Make sure to identify and explain:

The key issues that are related to the topic and discussed in the passage.
The fundamental philosophical terms and concepts associated with your topic and are discussed.
The key teachings and methods of the philosophical figure and tradition you read about in the passage and discuss.
Also:

Be clear, careful, and correct Your audience is your roommate. Assume your roommate has never taken a philosophy class before; can they follow along in the paper and know what is happening? Think it through. In general, avoid technical terms and jargon, or explain what they mean if you must.

Social Dilemma Research | Part 1 – Literature Review [Originality Check]

Social Dilemma Research | Part 1 – Literature Review [Originality Check]

SUMMARY
The complexity of social interactions stemming from strongly held beliefs and values among people groups are never more pronounced than in social dilemmas past and present. Theories of social psychology not only help us understand the dynamics involved in social dilemmas but also help us consider methods for analyzing them through a theoretical framework. Analyzing the social dilemma through a Christian lens, also allows you to consider those elements of the dilemma that might not be explained through theories, but instead might be viewed through a perspective of faith.
This assignment requires you to examine the research literature around a past or present social dilemma to gain an understanding of how dilemmas arise, evolve, and sometimes resolve or dissipate over time. This is a multi-part assignment with each part separately graded and due in different weeks throughout the term. Refer to the Assignments List for specific dates
Instructions Part 1
1. Review the research literature in the online APU Library or Google Scholar to identify two different social dilemmas you might analyze in part 2.
2. Identify and briefly describe at least 3 relevant theories of social psychology that might be relevant to either dilemma Cite scholarly/authoritative sources in your descriptions of the theories and their relevance to the dilemma.
3. Identify 6 scholarly or authoritative articles (3 for each dilemma) that will provide a basis from which to write your research paper. Use the Assignment Requirements of Part 2 as your guide of concepts that will be addressed in part 2.
4. Compose an annotated bibliography of the selected articles that you have identified and will use in part 2 for your research paper.
5. Submit this as a very brief literature review that includes annotated bibliography that meets all Assignment Requirements by the specified deadline for final grading.
REQUIREMENTS
Citation Requirements:
o 3 scholarly/authoritative articles are annotated for each of 2 social dilemmas
o 6 scholarly/authoritative articles; 3 per dilemma
Word Count:

Where in the World Is Evidence-Based Practice?

Where in the World Is Evidence-Based Practice?

March 21, 2010, was not EBPs date of birth, but it may be the date the approach grew up and left home to take on the world.

When the Affordable Care Act was passed, it came with a requirement of empirical evidence. Research on EBP increased significantly. Application of EBP spread to allied health professions, education, healthcare technology, and more. Health organizations began to adopt and promote EBP.

In this Discussion, you will consider this adoption. You will examine healthcare organization websites and analyze to what extent these organizations use EBP.

To Prepare:

Review the Resources and reflect on the definition and goal of EBP.
Choose a professional healthcare organizations website (e.g., a reimbursing body, an accredited body, or a national initiative).
Explore the website to determine where and to what extent EBP is evident.
By Day 3 of Week 1

Post a description of the healthcare organization website you reviewed. Describe where, if at all, EBP appears (e.g., the mission, vision, philosophy, and/or goals of the healthcare organization, or in other locations on the website). Then, explain whether this healthcare organizations work is grounded in EBP and why or why not. Finally, explain whether the information you discovered on the healthcare organizations website has changed your perception of the healthcare organization. Be specific and provide examples.
