Question 2: Why would it be a good thing, or what are some good reasons for saying that connection between religion and morality should be necessary, meaning religion required for morality? What are some positives of having religion and morality connected this way?

Question 3: Why would it be a bad thing, or what some problems with saying that the connection between religion and morality should be necessary, meaning religion is required for morality ? what are some negatives of having religion and morality connected this way?

Question 4: Why would it be a good thing, or what are some good reasons for saying that the connection between religion and morality should be contingent, meaning religion is not required for morality ? what are some positives of having a moral system that is independent of religion?

Discuss the difference between the existing unemployment rate and the natural unemployment rate is the cyclical unemployment rate .

Here are four individuals telling you their stories of how they became unemployed. In a multi-paragraph essay, apply the theories of unemployment to explain the type of unemployment that each of these individuals is facing and explain which of these individuals qualifies for unemployment benefits:

Two months ago, Marcelle used to work full time in an automobile manufacturing firm. “The factory where I used to work has closed because our market contracted so much, and so I was laid off. This is happening to people all over the country-all you see in the papers is that economic growth has fallen and incomes across the country have fallen. I have been looking very hard for a new job, but have had no luck yet.”

Until last week, Dominic used to work full time as a hair-dresser in downtown Cincinnati. “I decided to quit my job, because I want to move to New York City.”

Until last month, Francine worked part time at a ski resort. “Well, it is summer now, and so the resort is closed. I will apply again in the winter when the snow is back. I am not interested in working until then.”

Two months ago, Beauvoir had been working full time as a secretary. “I was a good typist, but I don’t know how to use a computer. My boss wanted to upgrade the office to computers, and so I was replaced by someone who is computer-savvy. I have been looking for another job, but it appears that I need to learn some computer skills.”

Develop a response that includes examples and evidence to support your ideas, and which clearly communicates the required message to your audience. Organize your response in a clear and logical manner as appropriate for the genre of writing. Use well-structured sentences, audience-appropriate language, and correct conventions of standard American English.

Types of Unemployment:
There are several different types of unemployment.

-Frictional Unemployment Every day, demand conditions change in some markets, causing qualified individuals with transferable skills to leave some jobs and move to others. To illustrate, suppose there are two computer firms, A and B. For some reason, the demand falls for firm As computers and rises for firm Bs computers. Consequently, firm A produces fewer computers. With fewer computers being produced, firm A doesnt need as many employees, so it fires some employees. By contrast, firm B is producing more computers. With more computers being produced, firm B hires additional employees. The employees fired from firm A have skills that they can transfer to firm B; after all, both firms produce computers. However, it takes time for people to make the transfer. During this time, they are said to be frictionally unemployed.
Frictional unemployment is unemployment that is due to the natural so-called frictions in the economy and that is caused by changing market conditions and represented by qualified individuals with transferable skills who change jobs. The frictional unemployment rate is the percentage of the labor force that is frictionally unemployed:

-Structural Unemployment Unemployment due to structural changes in the economy that eliminate some jobs and create others for which the unemployed are unqualified is called structural unemployment. Most economists argue that structural unemployment is largely the consequence of automation (labor-saving devices) and long-lasting shifts in demand. The structurally unemployed differ from the frictionally unemployed mainly in that they do not have transferable skills. Their choice is between prolonged unemployment and retraining. For example, suppose automobile workers are being laid off and the demand for computer analysts is rising. If the automobile workers do not currently have the skills needed to become computer analysts, they are structurally unemployed. The structural unemployment rate is the percentage of the labor force that is structurally unemployed:

A dynamic, changing economy like that of the United States always has frictional unemployment. Many economists believe that the basic cause of frictional unemployment is imperfect or incomplete information, which prevents individuals from leaving one job and finding another instantly. For example, imagine an economy with 1,000 job vacancies and 1,000 persons qualified to fill the jobs. Some unemployment is likely because not every one of the 1,000 job seekers will know where the available jobs are. Nor will all employers give the job to the first applicant who knocks on the door. Employers dont know whether better applicants are around the corner. Matching qualified workers with the available jobs takes time.

Cyclical Unemployment
The unemployment rate in the economy is not always the natural rate. The difference between the existing unemployment rate and the natural unemployment rate is the cyclical unemployment rate .
When the existing unemployment rate (U ) is greater than natural unemployment rate , the cyclical unemployment rate is positive. when its less, negative
