Scenario:
You have been appointed the head of a committee that will make orientation presentations to incoming healthcare staff. Many members of the staff at the facility are not Catholic or Christian and some identify their religion as none.
Assignment Direction:
For the Final Integration Project, construct a PowerPoint of 12-14 slides which will be used as part of the orientation presentation to new staff. The PowerPoint will include an introduction and the Catholic-Christian perspective on one medical dilemma faced at the institution. Works Cited slides at the end of the presentation do not count towards the 12-14 slide total. The notes section below each slide provides a narration for the slide and credit for pictures and media used in the slide. The PowerPoint presentation includes two parts:
Part 1) Introduction to Catholic Social Teaching (CST) and Holistic Care
In the first section of the PowerPoint, introduce the group to Catholic Social Teaching (CST) with emphasis on its central theme: The Dignity of the Human Person. Then, incorporate a justification for the concept of holistic healthcare. The introduction section should include two direct references from any sources related and the book that i have provided on the uploaded file and explain how and why care at your institution is concerned with upholding CST and holistic care. Explain how and why healthcare at your institution holds CST and holistic care as priorities.
Part 2) Explain the ethical dimensions of one medical dilemma from the Catholic Christian perspective
Choose a morally challenging medical issue which presents a dilemma for those deciding on possible medical treatment options. Using fewer than eight slides, define the medical issue and explain the basics of Catholic-Christian teaching regarding the medical treatment options. Provide a clear and concise guide to inform new employees about the Catholic-Christian ethical understandings of the dilemma and what types of procedures would or would not be permissible at your institution. Provide two or three references that explain Church teaching.
