10 Pages including the concept map, bibliography and visual representation.
You are encouraged to make your report well-organized and visually appealing, including images/graphs (must be cited) where appropriate. Within your report you must include the following:
* Ecology in the City, meaning describe the nature: the physical, biological, hydrological (water) and ecological components of the urban area. You should report on the general geography, climate, topology, vegetation, wildlife, endemic or flagship species, biome, native/invasive species, and habitat quality. Is the ecology of this city currently being studied? Please find and cite scientific literature. Are there any specific species of conservation concern?
* Humans in the City, meaning report on the history of settlement, economic profile and trends, major stakeholders, important cultural/religious aspects, nature of governance, social strife (based on identity, economic issues, and/or quality of governance), education, human health, and environmental injustice/equity issues.
* Urban Development Issues (current or near future) for the city, meaning provide details on what is most at risk for this city now or in the near future? You must address these urban development issues within a socio-ecological systems framework, drawing on your knowledge from the Socio-Ecological City Report you did. What is the city doing already to address problems, where do they need to get to, and how are different stakeholders cooperating or in conflict? You should include research specific to your city.
* Socio-Ecological Systems Map view of city presented in a concept map you create complex connections between humans & nature presented, linking the research you have found into a systems-view.
Research for your report must include a minimum of 15 citations from a variety of different types of sources (government reports from NGOs, scientific papers, academic articles, news reports, etc.). Use superscript numbers to indicate citations throughout your pamphlet and include a separate page as a full bibliography (not just a list of websites). Remember that vague information without research is not helpful for this project.
