Tell your audience a story about an event that changed your life. Was it when you graduated from high school? Enlisted for military service? Had fun reconnecting with relatives at a Family Reunion? Got your first job? Held your baby, new brother/sister, or grandchild for the first time? Life is a series of events that form the person that we are today.
Look back, and choose the event that you would like to share with 4-5 live listeners of your choosing, who are 18+ years of age and in the same room with you as you speak (mandatory that you have live listeners!), as well as two Peer Reviewers (classmates) and me.
If you have a memento of the event, such as your diploma, photo on your cellphone, car keys, team jersey, etc., use it as a visual aid!
This speech should be between 3-5 minutes long.
