Paper # 1: Identify one prominent terrorist group, inside or outside the US, and overview the history of terrorism in the country of origin of your chosen group, their operational style and current grievances. Explain how their original grievances can translate into a conflict on the US soil.
The intended objective of this assignment is to allow you to think about terrorism preparedness from a much more global perspective taking into consideration the fact that the threat assessment has to be expended beyond the usual suspects concept, like the Al Qaeda threat or any other high profile group.
The required elements will include:

2. History of the country where the group operates
3. The operational M.O.
4. Analysis of the threat from the group on US soil

Try to write about a new/unheard of terrorist group. This is what my professor said regarding page length. “It depends on the group you decide to write about. There are some high profile groups that have been written about extensively and them some we never heard about.
So, as a rule of thumb – if the group is a prominent one, anywhere between 10 to 12 double spaced Times New Roman 12 font pages. If a group is relatively new or not much has been written about it 6 to 8 will be sufficient.”
