PLEASE RESPOND TO CHRISTINE POST. POST MUST BE SUBSTANTIVE, AND ADD TO THE DISCUSSION IN THE MEANINGFUL WAY.

CHISTIAN’S POST: The vision that I would like to implement for the organizational structure at SLMC is to commit to providing you and your family with the best possible health care services. “Our pledge to excellence begins with the moment we welcome you through our doors, and our goal is to ensure you receive the highest quality of care during your stay with us.” The rationale for this vision goes along with the original vision statement from SLMC. Providing individualized healthcare that is tailored to the individuals needs and utilizing the latest state-of-the-art medical technology will continue a healthcare focus that is holistic including the physical, psychosocial, emotional, and/or spiritual needs. As the nurse executive, I would continue the growth and development of educational programs to patients and nursing staff to promote wellness of the body and spirit as patients go through disease processes. Having the availability of resources for emotional and mental health support utilizing the SLMC mental health location in Ironridge, SC. I would also support and encourage program development for wellness such as fitness, nutrition, and art therapy.

As a nurse executive, I would create a motivating climate and atmosphere at work by establishing a supportive and encouraging environment. This is a simple yet effective strategy that management can do that supports a positive environment, the manager uses time and energy to promote this method of satisfaction. Showing employees that you as a manager trust them for making the right decisions can also be a positive strategy. Incentives and rewards of recognition are also helpful ways for creating a more positive work environment. Being a positive, supportive, and enthusiastic role model for the employees also helps to create a positive work environment. (Corder, E and Ronnie, L. 2018) Practical implications Nursing managers should recognize their role in caring for the wellbeing of their staff and should be trained accordingly. Equipping nurses with the necessary tools to work autonomously, as well as acknowledging their skills, will stimulate confidence and improve motivation.
